Text | This test will check that Pidgin opens and closes correctly test assumes Pidgin is being opened in a new install
- Open Pidgin from the menu
- Accounts dialogue and Buddy List opens, Buddly List minimised to panel
- Focus on Buddy List, press Ctrl+Q
- Both dialogues close
This test will check that Pidgin will correctly set up an IRC account
- Open Pidgin from the menu, press Add in Accounts dialogue
- Add Account dialogue opens
- Select Protocol from Login Options
- List of available protocols shows
- Select IRC from protocols
- Dialogue changes to show IRC options
- Type username in Username box, then select password box
- Username remains in box
- Type password into box, then press Add
- Add Account box closes
- Account dialogue now shows the new protocol and is enabled
- Buddy List attempts to connect
- Conversation window opens at Nickserv
This test will check that Pidgin will join a channel correctly
- Focus on Conversation window, select Conversation from menu
- Menu options show
- Press Join a chat
- Join a Chat dialogue appears
- Type #ubuntu-quality in Channel box and press Join
- #ubuntu-quality tab appears in Conversation window
- Type "Testing pidgin" into chat box and press enter
- Text appears in window
- Type /part and enter
- Conversation window shows You have parted the channel
- Press Ctrl+W
- #ubuntu-quality tab closes
- Focus on Buddy List and Press Ctrl+Q
- All Pidgin windows close
