Test-case name: shotwell/swp-001
This test will check that Shotwell can import pictures from camera

  1. Plug in your camera using a USB cable. Your camera may need to be switched on, check the camera manual
    1. A window should appear telling you that it has detected media that contain digital photos
  2. Select ‘shotwell’ in the dropdown and click ok
    1. Shotwell loads and display thumbnails of the photos on your camera
  3. Select a single photo and click Import Selected
    1. Shotwell imports the photo and displays a prompt asking you if you wish to delete the photos from the camera
  4. Select no.
    1. The dialog disappears
  5. Select “last import” in the left hand pane
    1. Does shotwell display the picture you imported?

Test-case name: shotwell/swp-002
This test will check that Shotwell can edit images

  1. Ensure shotwell is still loaded and displaying your import picture. Double click the picture thumbnail
    1. The image is enlarged and editing buttons exist below the image: Rotate, Crop, Red-eye, Adjust, Enhance
  2. Click rotate button four times
    1. The image should turn 90 degrees after each click and return to its original orientation upon completition
  3. Click the Crop button
    1. A square appears, the photo within the square will appear with normal contrast, outside the square the photo will have reduced contrast.
  4. Click and drag the square with the mouse to the left hand side of the image
    1. The cropped square moves and a grid will appear that divides the cropped area into nine smaller squares
  5. Click OK
    1. The photo is now cropped and contains only the area selected
  6. Press ctrl+z
    1. The photo is now restored to it’s original condition
  7. Click Red-eye
    1. A small circle appears near a region of the photo that looks red.
  8. Click close
    1. The red eye dialog is closed
  9. Click Adjust
    1. A histogram of the image and five adjustment sliders appears
  10. Move the left slider to the right
    1. The image contrast/color is changed in response
  11. Move the left slider to the right
    1. The image contrast/color is changed in response
  12. Click Adjust
    1. The histogram is closed
  13. Click Enhance
    1. The image is changed with extra contrast
  14. Press ctrl+z
    1. Did the photo respond properly to the editing, and is now restored to it’s original condition?

Test-case name: shotwell/swp-003
This test will check that Shotwell can publish images online

  1. Select an image you want to publish in thumbnail view, and then select File, Publish.
    1. The shotwell publish dialog appears
  2. Select an on-line provider from the dropdown and press Login
    1. The dialog connects to the providers login page
  3. Enter your login details and login to the providers page
    1. Login is successful
  4. Name the new albulm and hit publish
    1. Are the images published to the online provider?

Test-case name: shotwell/swp-004
This test will check that Shotwell can export pictures to folder

  1. Select an image you want to export in thumbnail view, and then select File, Export
    1. Export dialog appears
  2. Click ok
    1. Folder select dialog appears
  3. Select folder and hit save
    1. Did the Picture get exported to a new location?

Test-case name: shotwell/swp-005
This test will check that Shotwell can set image as desktop background

  1. Select an image you want to set as your desktop background in thumbnail view, and then select File, Set As Desktop Background
    1. Is your desktop background now set to the picture you selected?

Test-case name: shotwell/swp-006
This test will check that Shotwell can set images as desktop slideshow

  1. Select a group of images you want to set as your desktop slideshow in thumbnail view, and then select File, Set As Desktop Slideshow
    1. The Set as Desktop Slideshow dialog appears
  2. Slide the slider to set show each photo for 5 seconds.
    1. Exporting dialog pops up and disappears
  3. Minimize windows so you can see your desktop.
    1. Is your desktop background now set to the images you selected? Are they rotating every 5 seconds as set?
