This test will check that LXAppearance can change the widget
- Click on the Lubuntu symbol in the panel. Then go to "Preferences" and click on "Customize Look and Feel"
- A window opens, showing the tab "Widgets"
- Click on Widget "Clearlooks"
- The window appearance changes
- Click now on "lubuntu-default"
- The window appearance changes back
This test will check that LXAppearance can change colors individually
- Click on the tab "Color"
- The tab "Color" shows up
- Check "Use customized color scheme"
- The options in the tab unfade
- Click on the color of "Normal windows" and "Background"
- A window opens, showing a color selector
- For color name enter "#E39000". Click on "OK"
- The window closes. You see again the window of LXAppearance which now have a orange background color
- Click on the color of "Normal windows" and "Foreground"
- A window opens, showing a color selector
- For color name enter "#0000FF". Click on "OK"
- The window closes. You see again the window of LXAppearance which now have a blue text color
- Click on "Apply"
- Other opened windows appear in the same selected colors
- Uncheck "Use customized color scheme". Click on "Apply"
- The options in the tab fade
This test will check that LXAppearance can change the icon themes
- Click on the tab "Icon Theme"
- The tab "Icon Theme" shows up
- Choose theme "GNOME". Click on "Apply"
- The theme is applied the your system. Check your panel to see different symbols as well
- Choose theme "Lubuntu". Click on "Apply"
- The icons change back to Lubuntu standard theme
This test will check that you can change the appearance of the mouse cursor
- Click on the tab "Mouse Cursor"
- The tab "Mouse Cursor" shows up
- Select "DMZ black" and click on "Apply"
- The color of the mouse cursor does NOT change. This requires a new login
- Log off and log in again
- The color of the mouse cursor has changed.
This test will check that LXAppearance can change the window borders
- Click on the Lubuntu symbol in the panel. Then go to "Preferences" and click on "Customize Look and Feel"
- A window opens, showing the tab "Widgets"
- Click on the tab "Window Border"
- The tab "Window Border" shows up
- Select theme "Clearlooks". Click on "Apply"
- The window appearance changes
- Select the theme "Lubuntu-default". Click on "Apply"
- The theme changes back
This test will check that LXAppearance can change the font properties
- Click on the tab "Font"
- The tab "Font" shows up
- Uncheck "Enable antialiasing" and "Enable hinting". Click on "Apply"
- The font appearance deteriorates remarkably
- Check "Enable antialiasing" and "Enable hinting". Click on "Apply"
- The font appearance changes back
This test will check that LXAppearance can change additional properties
- Click on the tab "Other"
- The tab "Other" shows up
- Uncheck "Show images on buttons" and "Show images in menus". Click on "Apply"
- The symbols in the buttons (e.g. "Apply" in the current window) have disappeared
- Click on the Lubuntu Icon in your panel
- The symbols have disappeared in the menu as well
