The following tests require that you have several types of removable media on hand

Not having all media mentioned in test is not a case for failure. Please specify if media type is unavailable during test in the Comments section

This test will check that Volume Management is enabled and configurable

Open File Manager
File Manager opens
Select Edit->Preferences
The File Manager Preferences dialog opens
Click the 'Advanced' tab
Verify that 'Enable Volume Management' is checked, if not, check it.
Click the 'Configure' link
The Removable Drives and Media dialog opens

This test will check that Storage options work as expected

Make sure that the 'Storage' tab is selected
Uncheck all the options under 'Removable Storage'
Plug in an external hard drive or USB flash drive
The drive appears in the File Manager side pane but is unmounted
Insert a CD or DVD containing data files into an appropriate drive
The disc appears in the File Manager side pane but is unmounted
Right-click on both of those media in File Manager and select 'Eject'
They disappear from the side pane
In the Removable Drives and Media dialog, check both 'Mount removable drives when hot-plugged' and 'Mount removable media when inserted'
Insert the USB drive and optical disc again
Both media appear in the side pane of File Manager and are automatically mounted but no contents are displayed in the File Manager window
Eject both media again
They disappear from the side pane
In the Volume Manager, check 'Browse removable media when inserted'
Insert the USB drive and optical disc again
Both media appear in the side pane, they are automatically mounted and their contents are displayed in the File Manager window
Eject both media
Check the 'Burn a CD or DVD when a blank disc is inserted' option under 'Blank CDs and DVDs'
The two 'Command' fields become active and are pre-populated with an 'xfburn' command
Insert a blank recordable CD or DVD into an RW optical drive
A dialog appears asking for confirmation to burn the disc
Close the dialog and eject the disc

This test will check that the Multimedia options work as expected

Click the 'Multimedia' tab
Options for Audio CDs, Video CDs/DVDs and Portable Music Players are displayed
Note: portable music player formats vary too greatly to allow a standardized test to be included here
Ensure that both the Audio and Video options are checked and that there is a default command for Parole in the 'Command:' fields
Ensure that the 'Mount removable media when inserted' option is checked under the 'Storage' tab
Insert pre-recorded audio and video discs in an optical drive
The discs play automatically after they are inserted
Eject the discs
Uncheck the options to play when inserted and insert the discs again
The discs will not play automatically but will behave according to the current settings under the Storage tab for removable media

The last four tabs, 'Cameras', 'PDAs', 'Printers' and 'Input Devices' do not require testing

If all actions produce the expected results listed, please submit a 'passed' result.
If an action fails, or produces an unexpected result, please submit 'failed' and file a bug. Please be sure to include the bug number when you submit your result
