Text | This test will check that Xfce4 Panel allows to insert plugins into the panel
- Point your mouse cursor to an empty space on a panel and press the right mouse button
- A popup menu should appear
- Point the mouse pointer to the 'Panel' option
- A drop-down menu should appear
- Select the 'Add New Items...' option
- Add New Items window should appear
- Select a plugin in the list and click the Add button
- The selected panel plugin should appear at the end of the selected panel
- Select an item from the dialog, drag it and drop it in the panel
- The selected panel plugin should appear at the end of the selected panel
This test will check that Xfce4 Panel allows to configure panel preferences
- Point your mouse cursor to an empty space on a panel and press the right mouse button
- A popup menu should appear
- Point the mouse pointer to the 'Panel' option
- A drop-down menu should appear
- Select the 'Panel Preferences...' option
- Panel dialog window should appear
- Click on the 'Mode' drop-down list under the "General" section
- A list of possible panel orientations should appear
- Select one of the desired panel orientation
- The panel orientation should be promptly set to the selected orientation
- Tick the 'Lock panel' option under the "General" section
- The handles on the panel which allow to move it shouldn't be shown
- Untick the 'Lock panel' option under the "General" section
- The panel should be possible to drag and move anywhere on the screen. The panel should also snap to the edges of the screen
- Tick the 'Don't reserve space on borders' option under the "General" section
- The windows should stretch to the screen edge overlapping the panel
This test will check that Xfce4 Panel allows to add and remove panels
- Point your mouse cursor to the Applications Menu icon and click it
- A menu should drop down
- Select the Settings Manager option
- The Settings window should appear
- Point the mouse pointer to the 'Panel' icon and click it
- Panel dialog window should appear
- Point your mouse cursor to the '+' button and click it
- A new empty panel should appear showing a selection around it and the new panel should be listed in the drop down list at the top of Panel dialog window
- Point your mouse cursor to the '-' button and click it
- A Question dialog appears asking to confirm the removal
- Click the Remove button
- The currently selected panel should be removed
- Point your mouse cursor to an empty space on a panel and press the right mouse button
- A popup menu should appear
- Point the mouse pointer to the 'Panel' option
- A drop-down menu should appear
- Select the 'Panel Preferences...' option
- Panel dialog window should appear
- Point your mouse cursor to the '+' button and click it
- A new empty panel should appear showing a selection around it and the new panel should be listed in the drop down list at the top of Panel dialog window
- Point your mouse cursor to the '-' button and click it

This test will check that Xfce4 Panel allows to change the panel's height, width, length and the number of rows
- Point your mouse cursor to an empty space on a panel and press the right mouse button
- A popup menu should appear
- Point the mouse pointer to the 'Panel' option
- A drop-down menu should appear
- Select the 'Panel Preferences...' option
- Panel dialog window should appear
- Point the mouse pointer to the 'Row size (pixels):' slidebar under the "Measurements" section and move the slider to the right
- The total panel height (or width) should increase
- Point the mouse pointer to the 'Length (%):' slidebar under the "Measurements" section and move the slider to the right
- The total panel width (or height) should increase as a percentage of the width (or height) of the monitor screen
- Tick the 'Automatically increase length' option under the "Measurements" section
- The panel should expand as the panel contents change
- Point the mouse pointer to the 'Number of rows:' slidebar under the "Measurements" section and move the slider to the right
- Small panel plugins, such as launchers, should be laid out in multiple rows (or columns), while larger ones, like window buttons, should continue to occupy the whole panel height (or width)
This test will check that Xfce4 Panel allows to change the color, background image and transparency of the panel
- Point your mouse cursor to an empty space on a panel and press the right mouse button
- A popup menu should appear
- Point the mouse pointer to the 'Panel' option
- A drop-down menu should appear
- Select the 'Panel Preferences...' option
- Panel dialog window should appear
- Point your mouse cursor to the 'Appearance' tab and click it
- 'Panel Preferences...' selected/active tab should change to 'Appearance' tab
- Point the mouse pointer to the 'Style:' option button and click it
- A list of available styles should drop down
- Select 'Solid color' option
- The 'Color:' button should appear
- Click the color picker button
- The 'Pick a Panel Color' should open
- Select a color using the provided color picker and click the 'OK' button
- The selected color should be applied to the panel
- Point the mouse pointer to the 'Style:' option button and click it
- A list of available styles should drop down
- Select 'Background image' option
- The 'File:' button should appear
- Click the file browser button
- The 'Select a Background Image' dialog window should open
- Select a background image for the panel and click the 'Open' button
- The selected image should be applied as a background image for the panel
- Point the mouse pointer to the 'Style:' option button and click it
- A list of available styles should drop down
- Select 'None (use system style)' option
- The 'Alpha:' slidebar should appear
- Point the mouse pointer to the 'Alpha:' slidebar and move the slider to the left
- The panel should inherit the colors from the currently selected GTK+ theme and the percentage of transparency of the panel should decrease
- Point the mouse pointer to the 'Enter:' slidebar under the "Opacity" section, and move the slider to the left
- The percentage opacity of the panel and of all panel plugins decreases when the mouse pointer is hovering over the panel
- Point the mouse pointer to the 'Leave:' slidebar under the "Opacity" section, and move the slider to the left
- The percentage opacity of the panel and of all panel plugins decreases when the mouse pointer is not hovering over the panel
This test will check that Xfce4 Panel allows to automatically hide and show panels when the mouse hovers over it
- Point your mouse cursor to an empty space on a panel and press the right mouse button
- A popup menu should appear
- Point the mouse pointer to the 'Panel' option
- A drop-down menu should appear
- Select the 'Panel Preferences...' option
- Panel dialog window should appear
- If not selected, tick the 'Automatically show and hide the panel' option under the "General" section and click the 'Close' button
- Selected panel should automatically hide
- Hover your mouse over the location of the hidden panel
- The panel should pop up and remain visible while the mouse is over it
- Move your mouse away from the panel
- The panel should automatically hide
