Test-case name: SoftwareCenter

This test will check that Software Center can be open correctly

Open Ubuntu Software Center
Ubuntu Software Center launches

This test will check that Software Center can install applications by Categories

Open the Ubuntu Software Center
The Ubuntu Software Center is launched
Go to the Categories panel and click on "Sound & Video"
A list with multimedia applications is shown
Click on the VLC media player
Two new buttons appear, "More info" and "Install"
Press the "Install" button
A new window appears asking for authentication credentials
Authenticate with your credentials
A "Progress" icon is shown in the bottom panel with a number of process
Wait for the application to be installed
The "Progress" icon disappears
The icon application has a green tick
The icon application has two buttons, "More info" and "Remove"
Click the "History" button at the top of the Software Center
The VLC media mplayer is shown in the logs
Press the "back" button at the left top of the Software Center
A list of media applications is shown and vlc is selected
Click the "All Software" icon at the bottom of the Software Center
The Software Center shows the "whats' new" section
Look for the VLC media player and launch it
Is the VLC media player opened?

This test will check that installing applications from Software Center creates a menu item where applicable

Following VLC installation - go to Multimedia menu in your FAMILY
VLC has a menu entry

This test will check that Software Center removes applications correctly

Open the Ubuntu Software Center
Ubuntu Software Center is launched
Click on the "Installed" icon
A list with categories is shown
Select "Sound & Video"
A sublist with multimedia applications is displayed
Scroll down and press the VLC icon
Two new buttons appear, "More info" and "Remove"
Press the "Remove" button
A new window appears asking for authentication credentials
Authenticate with your credentials
A "Progress" icon is shown in the bottom panel with a number of process
Wait for the application to be removed
The "Progress" icon disappears
The sublist reloads and no longer shows VLC
Look for VLC and try to launch it
The VLC media player was uninstalled successfully and is unavailable

This test will check that the search feature works

Open Ubuntu Software Center
Ubuntu Software Center is launched
Move the cursor to the Search box at the right top of the Software Center and click on it
The search box gets the focus
Write "Vlc" and wait
The Software Center return matches which contains Vlc

This tests will check that Software Center can installs applications by search feature

Open the Ubuntu Software Center
The Ubuntu Software Center is launched
Go to the top bar and click on "View" and later on "Turn On Recommendations"
A window acknowledging the change appears
Select "Turn On Recommendations"
A new window asking for an Ubuntu Software Center account appears
Fill the required data and click "Forward"
A window confirming you're already logged into Ubuntu Software Center appears
Close the "Connect to Ubuntu Software Center" window
The recommended for you section reloads
Recommendations are shown

This tests will check that Recommendations can be turned off

Open the Ubuntu Software Center
The Ubuntu Software Center is launched
Go to the top bar and click on "View" and later on "Turn Off Recommendations"
Recommendation section shows a "Turn On Recommendations" button

This test will check that Software Sources works

Open the Ubuntu Software Center
The Ubuntu Software Center is launched
Go to the top bar and click on "Edit" and later on "software Sources.."
A new window appears "Software & Updates", here we are going to get a new server doing Click on "Download from" and choosing "Main Server"
A new window appears asking for authentication credentials
Authenticate with your credentials
Server change completes

This test will check that Reviews work

Reviews should be appear below
Reviews visible
Try to change the language from "English" to "Any Language"
A new list with reviews in different language should appear
Try to change the order of reviews from "Most Helpful First" to "Newest First"
A new list with reviews should appear ordered by Newest First
Click on "write your own review"
A new window should appear for writing your own review
Fill all fields, summit your review and click on "Publish"
Did the new review publish with the correct information?
Pick out a review, read it, and answer the question: "Was this review helpful? Yes/No"
Answer is accepted

This test will check that Menu Help Works

Press "F1" to get help directly
A new window should appear
Navigate through help topics
Help topics show information
Go to the top bar and click on "Help" and later on "Ubuntu Software Center Help"
The same window of the previous step shows
Go to the top bar and click on "Help" and later on "For Software Developers"
Default browser opens and redirects to http://developer.ubuntu.com
Go to the top bar and click on "Help" and later on "Terms of Use"
Default browser opens and redirects to http://apps.ubuntu.com/cat/tos/
Go to the top bar and click on "Help" and later on "About"
A new window appears
Selecting "launchpad.net/software-center" opens browser and redirects to https://launchpad.net/software-center
Click Credits
Credits shows in About window
