Test-case panel/appmenu_desktop

Click on the desktop
"Ubuntu Desktop" (or any localized string) appears in the panel
Move the mouse over the panel
"Ubuntu Desktop" label fades out and Desktop menubar items appear

Test-case panel/appmenu_mouse_click

Start Gedit
Move the mouse over the panel
Gedit menubar items appear
Click on "Search"
"Seach" menu appears
Click back in the application
"Search" menu closes and menubar items disappear

Start Firefox
Move the mouse over the panel and click on "File"
"File" menu appears
Without moving the mouse, left-click again
"File" menu disappear, the menu titles are still visible on the launcher though

Move the mouse to the "Edit" item

Maximize the window
Panel does not show window buttons
Panel shows the window title
Move the mouse over the panel

Panel shows Nautilus menubar items
Click on the "restore" window button
Nautilus window is restored (ie. not maximized anymore)
Panel does not show window buttons
Panel shows the window title
Maximize window again
Click on the "close" window button
Nautilus window closes

Start Nautilus
Maximize the window
Double-click on the unity panel, outside of the menubar
Nautilus window is restored (ie. not maximized anymore)

Test-case panel/titlebar_multi_windows

Have a maximized window and a restored one in the same workspace
Focus the restored window and move the mouse over the panel
Panel does not show window buttons
Titlebar and menubar are those of the focused window
Click on an empty space of the panel
Maximized window gets the focus

Test-case panel/indicators

Check the right part of the panel shows the following indicators:
  • - Messaging indicator: envelope icon
  • - (if system is a laptop, may be hidden depending on indicator settings) Battery indicator: battery icon, either charging or plugged
  • - (if system has bluetooth) Bluetooth indicator: Bluetooth icon
  • - (if system has network) Network indicator: either an "unplugged", "plugged", or "wifi" icon
  • - (if system has ubuntu one) Ubuntu one indicator: a cloud icon
  • - Sound indicator: volume icon
  • - Time indicator: the current time
  • - Session/System indicator: power icon

Test-case panel/indicators_mouse

Click on the messaging indicator
Messaging menu appears
Move mouse to the System indicator
Menus for all indicators appear and disappear as you move the mouse

Test-case panel/appindicator

Start gtk-recordmydesktop (or any application with an appindicator)
Application indicator appears in the panel
Click on the indicator
Application indicator menu appears
Click on "close" or "quit"
Application closes
Application indicator menu disappears

Test-case panel/appindicator_sni_qt

Start Skype or Mumble
Application indicator appears in the panel
Click on the indicator
Application indicator menu appears
Click on "close" or "quit"
Application closes
Application indicator menu disappears
