- Open two different applications, focus application A
- Press alt + tab, keep alt pressed
- You should see an alt tab dialog appearing after few milliseconds, showing icons for "show desktop", application A and application B. The application B icon should be highlighted
- Press tab continually
- The highlight should cycle through the available icons, having the window title displayed below the icon
Test-case alttab/switch
- Open two different applications, focus application A
- Press alt + tab, hold alt until the window show "application B" icon
- Release alt
- application B should get raised and focused
Test-case alttab/switch-minimized
- Open two different applications, minimize application B, focus application A
- Press alt + tab, keep alt pressed until application B icon is highlighted
- Release alt
- Application B should get restored, raised and focused
Test-case alttab/switch-quick
- Open two different applications, focus application A
- Press alt + tab quickly
- The alt-tab window should not appear
- Application B should get raised and focused
Test-case alttab/switch-same-window
- Open an application (one window only for this application)
- Press alt + tab, hold alt and press tab until highlighting the currently focused application
- Release alt
- Nothing should happen
Test-case alttab/windows-tab
- Open an application with multiple windows
- Press alt + tab until you highlight this application, hold alt
- After a short delay, all windows in the current workspace for this application should be shown
- Tap tab
- The highlight should go over the next window
- The title of each window should be displayed at the bottom
- Continue tapping tab
- It will then cycle to the next application (and application to application)

- Open an application with multiple windows
- Press alt + tab until you highlight this application, hold alt
- After a short delay, all windows in the current workspace for this application should be shown
- Tap tab to highlight the next window
- Release alt
- The selected window should be focused

- Open an application with multiple windows
- Press alt + tab until you highlight this application, hold alt
- Press the down key
- all windows in the current workspace for this application should be shown
- Tap tab to highlight the next window
- Press the up key
- all intances of the current applications should disappear and you should be back to the initial alt-tab visual representation

- Open an application with multiple windows (some of them should be minimized)
- Press alt + tab until you highlight this application, hold alt
- After a short delay, all windows for this application should be shown (even minimized ones)
- Continue tapping tab to highlight on a minimized window
- Release alt
- The selected window should be restored and focused

- Open an application with multiple windows, one being focused
- Press alt + key-above-tab, hold alt
- The alt + tab window should be presented, showing the application windows directly
- Continue tapping key-above-tab
- You should cycle only between the windows of this application

- Open an application with multiple windows, this one being focused
- Press alt + key-above-tab quickly
- The focus should go over the next window from the same application

- Open an application with multiple windows, this one being focused
- Focus another window of the same application
- Press alt + tab quickly
- The focus should go over the previous window of the same application

- Start Firefox, create two windows (File > New Window)
- Start GEdit, make sure GEdit window is the active one
- Use alt + tab to switch to Firefox
- The most recently focused Firefox window is raised
- Close the window having the focus
- The focus should go to the GEdit window

- Start Firefox on one workspace
- Switch to a different workspace, start GEdit
- Press alt + tab to browse through available applications
- The alt tab dialog should only show applications on the current workspace
- Firefox should not be present
- Most probably only the Desktop and GEdit icons should be visible

- Start Firefox, create two windows (File > New Window)
- Move one Firefox window to a different workspace
- Press alt + tab until you highlight the Firefox application, hold alt
- No window preview should be visible - just a single Firefox icon
- The other Firefox window should not be visible in the alt tab dialog
Test-case alttab/preview-global
- Start Firefox on one workspace
- Switch to a different workspace, start GEdit
- Press ctrl + alt + tab, keeping ctrl and alt keys pressed
- The alt tab dialog should show all applications running on all workspaces
- The Firefox application icon should also be visible
- While still holding ctrl + alt, tap the tab key until you focus on the Firefox application icon
- Release the ctrl and alt keys
- Unity should switch to the workspace where Firefox is running
- The Firefox window should get focus
